Procurement professionals focused solely on price will no longer exist in 2025, EY LLP consider. Those who see all negotiations as a zero-sum game and believe any ‘money left on the table’ a failure will not have a place in the best procurement teams as the 21st century evolves. While cost will still be a key consideration, it will however be redefined to become multi-dimensional.
This will require multi-dimensional thinkers and profiles in procurement leadership; a change that has already started to take place in the best procurement organisations.
