Procurement Australia is pleased to announce that Glenn Patterson, existing Procurement Australia board member and current Chief Executive Officer for the City of Casey, has been appointed as the new Board Chair for Procurement Australia. Glenn Patterson’s appointment is effective from 1 October 2022. He succeeds Procurement Australia’s founding Director and Chair, Ken McNamara, who recently retired from the position of Board Chair, a position he has held for 19 years. Ken will continue to serve on the Board of Procurement Australia.
The appointment of Glenn Patterson ushers in a new era for Procurement Australia, one the incoming Chair is excited to be at the helm for.
“I am grateful to be taking on this role at Procurement Australia, as we set our sights on achieving significant goals as part of our 3-year strategy.
We want to be the leaders in sustainable and holistic procurement. To do this, we will be embracing thoughtful and innovative strategies, that align with our organisation values. There is plenty of growth opportunities for the Procurement Australia business, exciting times ahead,” said Glenn Patterson.
Glenn, who was appointed to the Procurement Australia Board in 2015, has over 33 years’ senior leadership experience. He has been the City of Casey CEO since 2018 having previously served as CEO of the Yarra Ranges Council for 10 years and CEO of Baw Baw and Colac Otways Councils. He has also been CEO of a Melbourne-based property development group and owned and operated his own property-related business on the Mornington Peninsula.
The appointment of Glenn Patterson to this position is also welcomed by outgoing Chair, Ken McNamara.
“Glenn’s impressive history of leadership, coupled with his extensive experience in local government, makes him the ideal choice for the Chair position. I look forward to seeing him take the reins as Procurement Australia enters a new phase of development, one that will see ESG, sustainability and ethical procurement come to the forefront of our ever-changing and vibrant industry,” said Ken McNamara.
In his role as Chair, Glenn Patterson will continue to drive a key focus of Procurement Australia to become the leading procurement services company in Australia. He will oversee the development of Procurement Australia’s environmental and sustainability-focused policies and strategies, particularly around the implementation of the company’s ESG framework into its business-as-usual activities.
